Quarantine To-Do: Spring Patio Organizing

As the days blend into one another and we come to realize that it is week ?x!? of sheltering-in-place, areas of the home that we might not have had the time to enjoy are now being used more frequently. This is especially true for our outdoor spaces. Whether you have a pool, a big yard, a small yard, a trampoline, hammocks, lots of trees, no trees, just a balcony…so many of us have been trying to come up with different ways to enjoy the outdoors, especially if we have little kiddos to entertain.

It is no coincidence that our patios were one of the first spaces that both Sarah and I organized once we realized that we would be at home, with our families, indefinitely. Once yours is fully organized, we guarantee that you will enjoy it so much more. (Yes, even the patios need to be de-cluttered every now and then.) Here is a short To Do list to help you tackle the patio:

  • Use a broom, rake blower or just a plain rake to remove leaves and debris.

  • Remove and discard any items that are broken, moldy, or just not being used anymore.

  • Get a large outdoor container to corral all of the outdoor clutter, like pool toys, balls, jumping ropes and games you have laying out there. Sarah just purchased this deck box on wayfair.com.

  • Create a basket with essentials, like sunblock, mosquito repellent, sunglasses, etc. so you don’t have to keep running inside your house to get things.

  • Clean off your outdoor furniture. You can use a vacuum, or wash it with OxyClean, depending on how dirty it is.

  • Now, sit down, relax, and smell the roses!!! Hang in there! We are all in this together.
